Signscape and Signconex specialises in creating a range of specialist bespoke products with custom colour and designs including wayfinding sign systems, solar display systems, bespoke signage, noticeboards, information display products and letterboards, all carefully designed to match your client’s requirements. Based on the outskirts of Bristol, since 1973 our sign company has been serving trade customers all over the UK as well as internationally. We are also proud to manufacture and sell the widest range of external and internal signage on the market.

Survey

It all begins with a survey of the site location where your client's sign intends to sit. From here, we can get to work assessing the various sight options to help make the sign as effective as possible.

Design

Tall or small, wide, or thin, we’re committed to helping you achieve the perfect result with a generous suite of designs. Our expert team will design highly effective signage solutions for you and your client. We can also incorporate company graphics, logos, colours, and branding for business signs.

Manufacture

All our sign systems are manufactured in-house at our Bristol factory - including fabrication, printing, and finishing - allowing us to provide the highest quality products that meet your client's specifications as well as ensure you receive excellent customer service.

Installation

Depending on the type of sign system required, our team of installers can usually install it within 24 hours – usually less. That means you can spend less time waiting for your sign and your clients can spend more time putting it to good use.

Company History

1973

The start of SignCo Limited

Signco Limited, was formed by Jack Dawes and Dr Humphrey Chamberlain to take on the previous market leader in peg letterboards and planning systems, Movitex Limited. Signco became the market leaders for these products in less than 15 years. Both these founding families retain their interest and involvement in the business, covering the last 47 years.

1989

The start of Signfix

Signfix was established by Bob Heard and John Snow. The business evolved from a shed in Axbridge, when the engineers created a sign fixing to attach signs to poles, bringing about the creation of sign fix channel and sign fixings, hence the name Signfix.

1990

A broader range of products

Exterior noticeboards were initially added to the product portfolio to provide exterior solutions to display peg letterboards. The contemporary Scroll noticeboard range, a Design Award finalist, broadened the scope of Signco’s noticeboard range. These additions accommodated a variety of inserts, including fabric and cork pinboards, dry-wipe whiteboards and custom options.

1991

High profile customers

Over the years, users of the Signco Scroll noticeboard range included Royal Mail and major cinema chains Odeon and VUE.

1993

Making acquisitions

Signfix becomes Signfix Systems acquiring case system noticeboards, Lynester, Modular Post and Panel systems, and Infocurve Monoliths.

2004

A major purchase

Signfix was bought out by the IDEX Corporation but remained a UK manufacturer.

2004

A large-scale key project

Signconex was awarded the ‘poster case rebranding project’ by Warner Cinemas in the UK, following Warner’s acquisition of the newly formed VUE cinemas.

2007

Part of a bigger picture

Sign Post Solutions took over Signfix and became part of a consortium of sign companies servicing the commercial and traffic industry. Peter Moore, MD of Tipton in the West Midlands, ran the steel fabrication business while Signfix ran aluminium fabrication for commercial signage.

2011

A new identity

Susan Biddle, Hamish Paterson and Jeremy Reeves bought out Signfix Systems and rebranded to Signscape Systems, as a trade signage manufacturer and fitter.

2021

Moving to the West Country

Signconex Limited merged with Signscape Systems and moved its production and operations from Bury, Greater Manchester to Upper Langford, Bristol.

2021

A change in leadership

Signscape and Signconex Limited is taken under new leadership through appointment of Spencer West as Managing Director.
